Can’t Leave the Office on Mandela Day?

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Every year on International Mandela Day (18th of July), we celebrate not only the birth of Tata Madiba but his 67-year commitment to social justice and servant leadership on the global stage.

On this day, we celebrate our rainbow nation and respond to a global call to action to harness our collective power to shape the world around us in a positive way.

By volunteering 67 minutes of our time, we are encouraged to act in kindness, amplifying the voices of those that often go unheard, serve our local ommunities, churches and charitable organizations or offer kind donations to support causes that inspire us.

What can I do on Mandela Day?

This Mandela day will be unlike any other. With the implementation of the national lockdown, there will be fewer events and available volunteering opportunities for ordinary individuals hoping to lend their support in person.

Luckily, donations based crowdfunding platform, BackaBuddy, offers a solution to those hoping to raise funds to support individuals, causes and charities in need.

BackaBuddy has supported more than 10 000+ individuals and charities in setting up crowdfunding campaigns for medical fees, tuition and various other causes in South Africa.
